The first time I discovered the dyeing system, I nearly fell off my chair! All you have to do is tap that DIY Workshop icon on the main menu, and BOOM—a whole new world opens up! The absolute BEST part? You don't even need the complete outfit to create a recolor! I can just grab individual pieces and transform them however I want. Though I should mention that only three-star, four-star, and five-star pieces can be dyed, which makes sense considering how basic the one and two-star items are.
When you select a piece to dye, the game shows you these color palettes and highlights the areas you can customize. I've spent countless nights just experimenting with different color combinations—applying one shade here, another there. Sometimes I select multiple areas to dye them the same color, creating this cohesive look that makes my character stand out in the crowd. The contrast you can create makes previously invisible patterns POP in ways the original designers probably never imagined!
Sometimes I start dyeing at 9 PM thinking "just a quick color change" and suddenly it's 3 AM and I've created seventeen variations of the same dress. Help. 🤦♀️

The color wheel gives you this godlike power to add depth and dimension to your outfits. I'm talking about creating subtle tones and shades that make your character look like they just stepped out of a high-fashion magazine! Last week, I spent THREE HOURS perfecting the exact shade of teal-blue for my Celestial Gown, trying to match it with this sunset gradient I created for the hem. My roommate thinks I've lost my mind, but who cares when my character looks THIS GOOD?
Hunting for Prisms Like They're Diamonds
Let's talk about the currency that fuels this addiction—Prisms! The game gives you some basic colors to start with, but if you want the GOOD stuff, you need to unlock more palettes. And that means grinding for Prisms. SO. MANY. PRISMS.
I've literally set alarms on my phone to remind me when certain events drop these precious materials. Five-star pieces require Radiant Prisms (which are about as rare as unicorn tears), four-star pieces need Luminous Prisms, and three-star pieces use Rainbow Prisms.
Did you know that completely glowing up any three-star item also gives you an additional palette? I discovered this by accident and nearly screamed with joy! I've been strategically evolving items just for the extra palettes, even if I don't particularly like the piece. Is that weird? Probably. Do I care? Absolutely not.
The game of collecting Prisms has become a bizarre meta-game for me. I track them in a spreadsheet. I HAVE A SPREADSHEET FOR VIRTUAL FASHION DYES. What has my life become? 😵💫
Fame in the Color Lookbook Community
Once I've created a masterpiece (or something I think is a masterpiece after staring at it for four hours straight), I HAVE to share it with the world! The Color Lookbook is where all us fashion-obsessed players congregate to show off our creations.
Pressing that share button in the wardrobe gives me this little dopamine hit every time. Sometimes I share directly with friends using share codes, but the real thrill comes from uploading to the public Color Lookbook. Last month, one of my designs got over 5,000 likes, and I'm not ashamed to admit I took a screenshot and sent it to my mom. (She was... confused, but supportive!)
The QR code feature is also GENIUS for sharing designs on social media. I've scanned so many codes from other players that my phone gallery is basically a QR code library at this point.
There is one annoying limitation though—you can't use other people's color schemes for clothes you don't own. This has led to me spending actual money to buy outfits just so I could use someone's amazing color scheme. My bank account is not thanking me, but my character looks FABULOUS.
